Big inland lake

Monteynard-Avignonet Lake is a « plan d'eau » (artificial lake) of second the category, classified « Grand Lac Intérieur »  from the 3rd August 1995. The rules and laws to follow are exposed in the leaflet of Isère Federation.


Fishing side

This lake allows you to go fishing .The association administrating the lake is the AAPPMA of Monteynard-Avignonet lake sindicate. The head office is in Treffort town council (38650), the president is Mr. Allard – Tel: +33 (0)4 76 72 69 92.

General and particular clauses :

The lake is authorized in the navigation only between level 468m and 490m. 

Fishing by night is not allowed. Compulsory fishing cards available on the premises

Fishing from the banks

- Allowed with fishing lines on rods – maximum 4 fishing lines by fisherman to have a total of 18 hooks

Fishing from a boat :

- Allowed with only 1 rod
- From the 2nd rod, an individual card « pêche en bateau » delivered by the local AAPPMA is requested.

Trolling :

- Allowed with the « pêche en bateau » card which allows maximum 4 fishing lines by fisherman to have a maximum total of 6 hooks or lures. The yellow fishing flag is compulsory.

Opening periods :

- Fishing whitefish is allowed from January 1st to December 31st
- Fishing chars, salmon, trout is allowed during the opening periods of the 1st category waters of Isère department.
- Fishing pike and zanders is allowed from January 1st to the last sunday of January, and from May 1st to December 31th.

Minimum sizes

- Trout, char, salmon: 30 cm (11.8 inches)
- Whitefish: 35 cm (13.8 inches)
- Zander: 40 cm (15.8 inches)
- Pike: 50 cm (19.7 inches)

It is allowed to catch a maximum of 6 salmonids by day and by fisherman.
